Building a Better World Together: A Career in Women’s Health

For nearly thirty years, Linda Andrews lived and worked in many countries throughout Africa and Asia as a nurse practitioner in Women’s Health.

Building a Better World Together was written for those interested in international health. Linda describes her life experiences working in Africa and Asia - on a long term basis in seven countries and short term in five others. She shares how she became interested in an international career and her road map to become qualified to work in international health, how she found her positions, settled into new countries, her work experiences and how she entertained herself.

Linda worked at the national level with the Ministries of Health. One of her objectives of writing this book is to emphasize the importance of listening and learning from counterparts and working in coordination and collaboration with government and non-government partners. She stresses that interpersonal relationships are key to working as an expatriate.
